Dustin Schaffer is a turfgrass and landscape professional with over 18 years of experience in the green industry, including six years in golf course management. He holds degrees in Turfgrass Management and Horticulture and is a graduate of the Davey Institute of Tree Science. Dustin is also an ISA Certified Arborist (certified by the International Society of Arboriculture) and maintains both Ohio and Kentucky pesticide certifications, ensuring his work meets the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Based in Covington, Kentucky, Dustin brings a science-backed, detail-driven approach to every property he touches. His background in high-performance turf and tree care allows him to diagnose problems quickly, build long-term solutions, and create outdoor spaces that are not only beautiful but healthy and sustainable. Dustin is a husband and father of two – an energetic 12-year-old son and a 10-year-old daughter, whose softball team he proudly coaches.

Tree and Shrub Treatments
Deep Root Feeding (Trees)
- Deep root feeding, or “root injection” is performed once per year. This method of feeding is effective on trees of any size- from new installs to 50+ years old.
- The purpose of deep root feeding is to assist with recovery from summer heat and stress. Fertilizer injection will counteract defoliation, maintain regular growth and prevent leaves from losing color and dropping too early.
- Root injection is the most environmentally conscious way to feed trees. The fertilizer is applied 3-5 inches into the soil, which reduces potential run off and feeds directly into the root zone of the tree.
Pest Control and Prevention (Insecticides)
- Insecticide applications are applied in liquid form to boxwoods, arborvitae and other commonly afflicted plants.
- These applications will prevent and treat pests like Psyllids, Bag Worms and Spider Mites.
- Insecticides are applied twice per year to the designated shrubs, and once per year in the lawn for fleas, tics and similar pests.
- We also offer mosquito misting (7 visits) for existing lawn application clients.
